Week#1 How are we doing?

First of all we would like to thank everybody supporting us, keep spreading the word. A small update of what’s going on and what we have planned:

  • We are planning big Crowdfunding Party which will take place in June, follow our Facebook page, we’ll be posting the date & location soon. Be sure to take the next day off as well…
  • The first (large) crowdfunding donations have been made. This money goes towards making this life-changing expedition happen! From this fund we are able to get the hardware we need, for example: a bicycle, tent, sleeping bag money for food & drink. Remember, our rider (Dirk) will be living as basic as possible, just the bare necessities (€8,-/day).
  • Our rider has been busy with training. After all, he’ll be cycling an average of 60 miles a day, 6 days a week. Not your average ride around the block…
  • Our Twitter account was closed down for an unknown reason! We apologize for the inconvenience; we’ve been sending e-mails to Twitter asking for an explanation. No reply yet… We do expect the account to be up and running this week.
  • We’ve started writing our statutes to become an official Foundation. In week #2 it will be official; we have an appointment with a notary who is willing to help us for free! This means we will have certain privileges in the future. For example, it will be easier installing iDeal (online payment method) on our website.

If all goes as planned, we are hoping to start the expedition and leave for Alaska in July of this year. Help us out and donate!

Update: Twitter is up and running again. We guess that they were busy celebrating Pentecost.
